There is a chance that Apple’s iPhone SE is going to get an update release in March 2018 and it is rumoured that the new iPhone is being made in Bangalore, India. Apple has been known for building premium and high-end devices, but this will be the company’s foray into the low-end category.
What’s impressive is that Apple may have included the A10 Fusion processor, which can already be found on the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus. The iPhone SE featured the A9 SoC, and this move to the A10 will make the cheaper iPhone faster than ever. Reports also suggest that Apple may have also increased the battery capacity to 1,700 mAh. The iPhone SE 2 is expected to come in two storage options, i.e. 32GB and 128 GB. The iPhone SE 2 will feature a 12-megapixel primary camera sensor and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera.
The iPhone SE 2 will be a key device for countries in South East Asia, namely India and Indonesia. The smartphone is expected to cost INR 30,000. The low-end device is reportedly already in the initial stages of production and it is being manufactured by Wistron in Bangalore. The facility has been used previously by Apple for assembling devices in order to save high tariffs and import duties.
Recently, there’s been a report, as pointed out by BGR(http://bgr.com/2017/05/10/iphone-se-2017-release-date-wwdc/) that the iPhone SE 2 will look drastically different than its predecessor. The new iteration of the SE 2 is expected to feature an all-glass back and support wireless charging just like the iPhone 8 and iPhone X. We can also expect Apple to remove the headphone jack and also have water resistance.
The iPhone SE was first introduced to cater to fans who prefer smaller displays and want an affordable version of the iPhone. Consumers in emerging markets like India that cannot afford Apple’s supremely expensive devices, so the SE 2 is expected to sell like hotcakes in the near future.
